You DO NOT have to submit this form if you only wish to view or attend the Council meeting.

Before proceeding to complete and submit this form, have you reached out to the applicable department or an employee of the Town to address your concerns?  The Town of Tecumseh is committed to providing our residents with efficient and effective service and therefore we suggest this be your first contact when looking to bring your concerns to your Council.

Preferred Meeting Date:  (Town Council generally meets the 2nd and 4th Tuesday of each month. Please view the Council Meeting Calendar for upcoming dates.)

Presentation Materials

Any additional documentation, presentation materials, and/or audio-visual aids must be provided to the Clerk OR Town Lawyer/Solicitor prior to the meeting date for review, approval and circulation to Council and Administration. You are NOT permitted to distribute printed materials during the meeting. Any materials that will be made public must be compliant with AODA legislation.

Will you have any of the following?
 

Conduct

All delegates are required to comply with the procedures established for meetings in By-Law 2023-076 - Proceedings of Council (see Section 14.6 - Delegations and Attendance at Meetings), as well as the following:

  • Delegates are to speak only to the matter for which they have requested to speak to.
  • Delegates will accept the decisions of the Chair, not entering into cross debate with Council, other Delegates, attendees to the meeting or any Town staff.
  • No person shall speak to any person in a disrespectful manner, including but not limited to, use of indecent, offensive or insulting language.
  • No person shall display any signs or placards that make use of indecent, offensive or insulting language or may otherwise be considered disruptive.
  • No person shall applaud, heckle, engage in telephone or other conversation or engage in any behaviour which may be considered disruptive.
  • No person shall interrupt through speaking out, making noise or other disturbance.
  • No person shall leave their seat or make any noise or disturbance while a matter is being considered or discussed or while a vote is being taken.
  • ALL communication must be legibly written or printed; not contain any obscene or improper matter or language; be signed by at least one person; and be filed with the Clerk.

You hereby acknowledge:

  • you have had the opportunity to review By-Law 2023-076 - Proceedings of Council and this rules for conduct in this form;
  • you understand and agree to comply with the expectations for procedure and conduct;
  • you understand that the Chair may stop and/or remove any Delegate due to any breach of Town By-laws or Policies with respect to procedures and conduct;
  • you understand that repeated violations of procedure or conduct may result in further measures against you;
  • you understand that personal information you provide on this form is collected pursuant to the Municipal Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act and will be used for the purpose of responding to your request; AND
  • you understand that this form, if approved, may appear in the published Council Agenda and may be included in the Council Minutes, both of which become part of the public record and are posted to the Town's website (see Notice below).

Notice of Collection/Use/Disclosure: All information is collected in accordance with the Section 8 of the Municipal Act, 2001, and for Council’s purposes under Section 239(1) of the Municipal Act, 2001 and (i) may be used in Council deliberations; and (ii) may be disclosed in full, (including but not limited to names, emails, addresses, and opinions) to other persons as part of a public agenda or requested under the Municipal Freedom of Information Act (MFIPPA). .
